All good things must come to and end. If it has to end, we might as well end it with a bang. This was the hardest category to edit, and being that it is the final chapter for 2010, decided to expand the countdown to 100 images. Only two more to go in our “Best of” series. As a tribute to all of our clients, we have been honoring them with our favorite photographs and moments from their weddings in 2010. Our 2011 wedding season officially kicks off April 9th and we felt this would be the perfect time to look back on our favorite photographs. We had to increase the number of favorites to 65 because the category was so good! Every day up to April 9th we will post a “Best of” category counting down our favorites from each. A Story Within A Story- The Quiet Moments

We love the energetic, lively photographs that weddings induce as much as anyone. Within a wedding day, though, the subtle, quiet moments can give a deeper look into the person being photographed. Rick is a thoughtful, compassionate person. He is genuinely concerned with how other people are feeling and what they are going through. So just a few moments before he was to walk through the door to his left to marry his wife Carissa, this image of him deep in thought truly reflected his personality. He had forgotten that I was there and that is when the most real and storytelling images generally happen.

Katie & Gary March 20th, 2010 @ The Grand Concourse

Like I mentioned in our Sneak Peak yesterday, I worked with Annie O’Neill (www.annieoneillweddings.com) at Katie and Gary’s wedding . Their ceremony was at St. Gabriel Church in Baldwin with their reception downtown at The Grand Concourse.

It was an interesting situation for me because in the hundreds of weddings that Elizabeth and Ihave photographed, neither has ever been a second shooter and the perspective is completely different. Annie is a close friend of ours and she asked if I wanted to help her out, which was my pleasure. Being a second shooter has limitations, but it also affords some tremendous freedom to shoot from positions and try unusual angles and dramatic light that might be too risky if I was on my own. It was a wonderful time and I hope it’s not the last time we get this opportunity!

Sneak Preview- A First Dance at The Grand Concourse

I had the pleasure of photographing with our great friends Annie O’Neill and Nancy Andrews at Katie and Gary’s wedding at The Grand Concourse inside on Station Square in Pittsburgh on March 20th. The Grand Concourse, which is such a unique and historic building, is the former lobby of the old Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad. Check back tomorrow for more of their images!
