Rachel and Steven were married on New Year’s Eve with a wedding that blew away the typical end of the year festivities. From our initial meeting with Rachel, Stephen and her mother Barbara ( which was nearly three hours of laughter and telling great stories), we knew this was going to be a memorable night. Rachel is one of the most creative people we have ever met. She took care of most of the details for the wedding. Ranging from a customized mad lib game about Rachel and Stephen for their guests to the dinner menu, this wedding showcased their personalities perfectly. Being that they are so involved with music they changed the tune by having their guests sing a song if they wanted them to kiss. Each table was named after a favorite artist and also had a list of songs they could choose to sing. They even had a projector so everyone could watch and count down the ball dropping in Times Square to ring in the New Year! It was an absolutely perfect end to a wonderful year and we were thrilled to be their wedding photographers! Congratulations Rachel and Stephen!

It was obvious from our initial meeting that Rachel and her mother had a wonderful relationship and a special bond. On the day of her wedding, is was just as evident. Narrowing down all of the wonderful expressions and moments between them was the hardest part for us. This one image, though, really popped out for me. It was when Barbara (Rachel’s mom) was watching the father-daughter dance and she had just wiped a tear from her eyes. The emotion in her face, while Rachel and her dad dancing in the foreground, made this photograph for me. Check back soon for their unbelievable New Year’s Eve wedding!
